Christmas Raffle Success for Bradford North Foodbank

Stonehouse Supports Bradford North Foodbank Through Christmas Fundraising

As our Christmas raffle had been such a success over the last few years raising over £700 for our chosen charities, we decided to raffle all gifts we received for our staff during December internally, and again donate the ticket sales.

This year we made the decision to support Bradford North Foodbank so that we could purchase and donate food and toiletry items ahead of the festive season, by working with the volunteers to see which areas they may be short.

Through prize donations from our amazing suppliers, sub-contractors and business contacts, and additional Christmas activities such as Christmas Jumper Day and ‘Name the Reindeer’, we managed to raise a huge £791!

Visiting the foodbank was eye opening to say the least, and the amount of work and hours that the volunteers put in there is astonishing. Whilst we were there, we got to speak with the Manager who is from Shipley, (local to our office,) and for a period of his life found himself homeless with nothing to eat. Whilst we chatted, the volunteers were packing up emergency 7-day food boxes for individuals who have nothing this Christmas, and the delivery drivers arrived to get another van load of food to distribute.

We intend to continue supporting this cause in 2023, and we are looking into ways of helping by giving our time as well as donations, so watch this space!
